The best non-educational kid's tv show on today 'SpongeBob SquarePants - The Complete 1st Season'
'SpongeBob SquarePants - The Complete 2nd Season', and the best non-educational kid's show from thirty years ago is 'Scooby Doo, Where Are You! - The Complete First and Second Seasons', hands down!
Best superhero cartoons ever, atmospheric, clever & addictive 'Batman - The Animated Series, Volume One (DC Comics Classic Collection)', & the next volume 'Batman - The Animated Series, Volume Two (DC Comics Classic Collection)' is going to be equally amazing. Can't wait!
2nd best superhero cartoons ever would have to be 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Original Series (Volume 1)'. Too bad the live action movies sucked. Oh well, hopefully we'll get more of these awesome cartoons!
'Fraggle Rock' and 'The Storyteller Collection' haven't been on for years, but they just brought the Storyteller out recently, & for those who havent seen it, it's one of the most captivating and beautiful shows ever made for any age group. Its a shame they made so few. And Fraggle Rock is one of the cutest, cleverest muppets shows of all time. It's the first tv show I ever watched.

Of course not all cartoons are so wholesome. Let's not forget the adult cartoons that have shaped modern culture so much.
'Family Guy, Vol. 1 (Seasons 1 & 2)' I cant believe they cancelled a show this ingenious & irreverent- wait, yes I can. Oh well, now we can watch it without interruption from commercials or censors.

And of course the classic, the epitome of American filial disfunction & satire: the Simpsons.

Moving on to some more obviously adult TV shows,
HBO is the master of amazing TV series, they have some of the most innovative, captivating shows in the history of TV. HBO has such a knack for finding the right mix of uproarious comedy and genuine human drama & pain. With shows like 'Six Feet Under - The Complete First Season' and Sex & the City, its not hard to see why HBO is now considered not an extra, but a necessity. (I've heard great things about the Sopranos, but so far I haven't seen it & this list is just for shows I've seen)

Then the next obvious crime drama would have to be the classic, yet fresh and time-tested series, Law & Order.

The spin-offs are as good (I actually prefer them to the original).

These are the most graphic of the lot, but these episodes are some of the most compelling and moving of all.
And last but not least, my favorite of the Law & Orders- Law & Order: Criminal Intent

Try the humorous 'Monk - Season One' to liven the dark world of crime & punishment.
