Killington is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,095 at the 2000 census. The town is also home to a well-known ski resort of the same name.

The town had previously been named Sherburne, but on March 2, 1999 the town voted to change the name to Killington. This was approved by the Vermont Legislature on April 27, 1999.[1]
