Maricopa is a city (during the 2000 census was a census-designated place) in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. During a December 31, 2005 special census, the fast-growing city was reported to have a population of 15,934. The growth rate began to decline in 2006 and continued to fall in 2007 as the local housing market slumped. [1]
