Ester is a
census-designated place (CDP) in
Fairbanks North Star Borough,
Alaska,
United States. It is part of the 'Fairbanks,
Alaska
Metropolitan Statistical Area'. At the time of the 2000
census, the population was 1,680. It should be noted that the
boundaries of Ester vary depending on whom you ask. Ester
village has only a couple of hundred people and is considerably
smaller than the geographic area assigned to it by the US Census
Bureau. While the village is often described as a "bedroom
community" of
Fairbanks, its inhabitants take exception to this
description, and have a strong sense of community.
