Seriosly anyone looking for flat out great music should love all (or most) of these CDs
'Get Behind Me Satan' The White Stripes new CD will probably take a minute to grow on you but it's deffinately a good CD. Alot more piano and less guitar than their previose albums. The Denial Twist and Forever for Her is Over for Me are great songs.
'Lullabies to Paralyze' Queens of the Stone Age yeah baby. This CD rocks. Check out Burn the Witch, Tangled up in Plaid, and You've got a Killer Scene.
'Frances the Mute' Wow. What can I possably say about The Mars Volta. They have established themselves as my favorite band to come out in the past 10 years. This Album will definately take a while to grow on you but once you get used to it it will blow you away. The Mars Volta are unlike any other band in the history of music.
'In Your Honor' Great album. The fact that it's a double disc makes it extra nice, and the fact that one of them is all accoustic makes it even nicer.
'With Teeth' I doubt that this CD will be many NIN fans favorite; most fans of his older work will probably prefer The Downward Spiral and fans of newer NIN will probably prefer The Fragile but still this is a great Album and should satisfy fans of both erras
'Hypnotize' System of a Downs second CD of the year, Hypnotize, in my opinion is much better than the first, Mezmerize. Alot of the songs on Mezmerize just seem cheesy, where-as on Hypnotize it's hard to find a single track not to like.
'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' U2s new CD won 6 Grammys including Album of the Year. In my books it ranks as one of their best albums right up there with The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby
'In Between Dreams' Jack Johnsons new CD is pretty darn good. Personaly I prefer Brushfire Fairytales and On and On but this is still a great CD.
'Guero' Becks new CD is killer. His best since Odelay. I realy like all the songs except for Hell Yeah.
'Out of Exile' Adioslave released their second CD this year and just like their first one, every song is great.
'Live at Stubb's: Austin, TX 2/19/05' Matisyahu erupted onto the music scene this year with his unique blend of Jewish Reggae/Rock. To me this is his best CD to date.
'Don't Tread On Me' 311 can always be counted on to rellease great CDs and Don't Tread On Me is no exception.
'Nude' VAST is a little bit lesser known group that has been around since 1998. Seriosly mind blowing experience. The best way I can describe them is to mix U2, Nin Inch Nails, and the Cure together and you might have something kinda close to VAST. They actualy have a 2 disc version of this album out called Turquoise & Crimson but Amazon does not carry it. Go to http://2blossoms.com/acd.html to purchase it.
'Good News For People Who Love Bad News' Yeah I know this Cd is a little old to be on this list but it's an awesome CD and it's the newest material available from Modest Mouse. Overall a pretty great year for music and 2006 is looking to be pretty great as well with new releases scheduled for Pearl Jam, Tool, Radiohead, and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers already on the list. |
