The Shoppers Choice Awards

The DVD player is also a plus, for people who spend a lot of time on airplanes. Runner-up: Sony VAIO VGN-TX650P/B 11.1 Notebook PC.

Best Flat-Screen Television: Samsung HL-P5085W This DLP set's unique pedestal design looks cool and takes up a lot less floor space than other models. Other features include Texas Instruments' HD2+ DLP chip, 2500:1 contast ratio, 5 selectable color temperatures, and dual-tuner picture-in-picture with split-screen. Runner-up: Pioneer PDP-5060HD

Best Budget Desktop PC: Dell Dimension 3000 A great choice for students and families, this entry-level desktop balances price and performance for productivity use and basic multimedia functionality. It comes with a 17-inch monitor and costs less than $600. Runner-up: HP Pavilion a1030n.

Best Cell Phone: Motorola Razr V3 Made from aircraft aluminum, the Razr is only 13.9 millimeters thick - when closed.
