Description Guidelines
Halfvalue Marketplace sellers ship items directly to their buyers. When
a purchase is made, funds will
be transferred into the seller's paypal account. PayPal is an innovative
online payment solution that enables you to receive payments from anyone with an
email address. Buyers make payments to the paypal account associated with the
sellers registered email address on Halfvalue.com.
Please note that sellers must ship within two business days
of the purchase
Shipping Your Order
To confirm the shipping address and method of an order, you'll want
to look up your transaction online. If you do not yet have your Seller Account
bookmarked, you can reach by starting at the Your Account page--you'll see a
link for this in the upper right-hand corner of our Welcome page. Once in your
Seller Account, click to "Seller Payments/Payment History." Your Halfvalue
Payments Account details will appear on the next page.
The easiest way to look up recent orders is to search your
Sales
transactions. After logging in and running the appropriate search, you'll find
a list of your orders with the following information:
-
Payment Date
- Transaction Type
-
Order ID
- Buyer (e-mail address)
- Quantity
- Amount Due Seller
- Status
Click
the 'View Details' link to view the buyer's shipping address
and other details.
Transaction information will appear immediately after a buyer has
submitted payment; and, you should ship the product immideately. You will be sent a "Sold--Ship Now" confirmation
e-mail at this time. Transactions often process within minutes; however, they
can occasionally take up to 24 hours to complete. Funds appear in your Payments
account as soon as the buyer's credit card is successfully charged.
Your method of shipping depends on the type of product and whether
your buyer has chosen standard or expedited shipping. For shipping all products, use Parcel Post. For expedited
shipping, Priority Mail or trackable methods are recommended.
Domestic shipments sent via standard shipping are expected to arrive
within 4 to 14 business days from the date of purchase. Domestic expedited
shipments are expected to arrive within 3 to 6 business days from the date of
purchase. * You
are responsible for handling customer service inquiries from buyers. Note:
Shipping delays can result in buyers leaving a negative rating on your account,
revocation of the shipping credit by Halfvalue.com, and even the termination of
your account.
Shipping Credits
When you sell your item at Halfvalue Marketplace,
Halfvalue.com gives you
a shipping credit to help cover your shipping costs. The amount of the credit
depends on the shipping method chosen by the buyer.
The shipping credit is priced to cover standard shipping costs. All sellers are required to offer standard shipping;
and expedited shipping. Shipment is required even if the
shipping credit does not cover all shipping costs. Such discrepancies should be
accounted for in the price you set.
Halfvalue.com collects a shipping fee directly from the buyer at the
time of purchase, passing on to you the amount listed below.
Here's how to determine the amount of your shipping credit if your
item sells:

Describing Your Items
Collectible books must be signed, out of print, or
otherwise unique--you will have an opportunity to detail
why your copy is collectible.
- New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new,
unused, unread copy in perfect condition.
- Like New: An apparently unread copy in
perfect condition. Dust cover is intact; pages are
clean and are not marred by notes or folds of any
kind. Suitable for presenting as a gift.
- Very Good: A copy that has been read, but
remains in excellent condition. Pages are intact and
are not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine
remains undamaged.
- Good: A copy that has been read, but
remains in clean condition. All pages are intact,
and the cover is intact (including dust cover, if
applicable). The spine may show signs of wear. Pages
can include limited notes and highlighting, and the
copy can include "From the library of" labels.
- Acceptable: A readable copy. All pages
are intact, and the cover is intact (the dust cover
may be missing). Pages can include considerable
notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot
obscure the text.
- Unacceptable: Moldy, badly stained, or
unclean copies are not acceptable, nor are copies
with missing pages or obscured text. Books that are
distributed for promotional use only are prohibited.
This includes advance reading copies (ARCs) and
uncorrected proof copies.
Be sure to describe your books in an accurate manner.
An accurate product description increases buyer
satisfaction, helps sellers build a loyal customer base,
and ensures positive feedback ratings. Should a book
have an obvious cosmetic flaw or contain a "remainder"
marking (advance reading copies and uncorrected proofs
are not permitted), sellers are strongly encouraged to
make a note within the comments field.
