Palm Coast is a city in Flagler County, Florida, United States. The population was 32,732 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 44,427. Palm Coast has been growing at a phenomenal rate, due to both immigration and annexation, so the population as of 2006 is probably pushing 60,000. Palm Coast is the principal city of the Palm Coast, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area, designated in 2007.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 133.9 km² (51.7 mi²). 131.4 km² (50.7 mi²) of it is land and 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²) of it (1.90%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 32,732 people, 13,628 households, and 10,534 families residing in the city. The population density was 249.2/km² (645.4/mi²). There were 140,929 housing units at an average density of 113.6/km² (294.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 85.04% White, 10.27% African American, 0.24% Native American, 1.52% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.23% from other races, and 1.68% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.71% of the population.
