Hancock is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,147 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 100.1 km˛ (38.7 mi˛). 77.2 km˛ (29.8 mi˛) of it is land and 22.9 km˛ (8.8 mi˛) of it (22.85%) is water. It is home to the Hancock Grammar school.
