Believe it or not, selling vintage video games is now a big
business. There's a lot of money to be made with retro games and
consoles, especially if the items are in mint condition or
factory sealed. Finding items that were barely used is quite
rare though, which is why many old video game titles and systems
go for so much money. Without a doubt, one of the NES's most
beloved games is the original Castlevania. This doesn't
mean that all copies of the game are going for ridiculous
prices. A used copy of the game without its original box and
instruction booklet can be purchased for under a $1. But a copy
that is "brand new" and still factory sealed after all of these
years will go for upwards of $300 or higher.
The only people that would pay such an incredible amount of
money for a single game are the collectors. But if you're
interested in actually playing a game, a
bargain-basement-priced title without box and instructions
should suffice. A middle ground is usually available as well,
with a used copy of Castlevania with box and instructions
selling for around $20, for example.
For some people, paying $100 or more for a video game seems
crazy, but you can't put a price on your memories. Many of us
wish we could purchase old toys that we grew up playing with,
but finding them can seem impossible. Children of the '70s and
'80s are quite lucky, though, and if they're feeling nostalgic,
childhood toys, action figures, and video games can still be
found at relatively inexpensive prices. |
