Taylor offers a great lineup of acoustic guitars to fit the needs of just about any player, from beginner all the way to guitar master. On the small end of the scale, Taylor has their "Baby" series. These three-quarter-scale guitars are great for traveling. What they sacrifice in size they refuse to give up in quality of construction and sound. The Baby is made of sitka spruce combined with a sapele laminate, a combination that yields great sound quality with a minimum of weight. Moving on up the Taylor acoustic guitar lineup, there is the 900 series. The 910 is a beautifully crafted instrument that features an Engelmann spruce top and a back and sides that are crafted with real Indian rosewood. This classic combination produces a beautiful and rich tone that is simply unsurpassed. If you move up to the 950 you get into the realm of a "jumbo" guitar that offers unparalleled booming acoustic sound. Taylor makes a variety of "specialty" guitars as well, including their Koa series. What makes the Koa so special is that it is composed of a wood called Hawaiian Koa. This wood, when combined with Engelmann spruce produces a beautiful and unique tone. Additionally, the Koa wood, though difficult to work, is absolutely stunning in appearance. A careful, cost-conscious strummer can find a used Taylor guitar through quality instrument purveyors.
