Virtually every home these days has at least one VCR in it, and many people use them to record their favorite television programs when they're not around. Some individuals even make it a point to record and save every episode of their favorite television show. Though PVRs are quickly moving in and revolutionizing this industry, VCRs are still the most popular media when it comes to recording television.

However, sometimes things go awry: perhaps the VCR was set wrong and it didn't record the right show, or maybe a roommate accidentally taped over your favorite episode. Whatever the case may be, it's important to remain calm: you do have options.

Several television shows, particularly those that aired in '90s, have released episodes on VHS. Though DVD is by far the more popular format when it comes to television box sets, there are VHS copies as well. One thing to realize, however, is that finding TV VHS cassettes can prove rather difficult. As the DVD format continues to grow in popularity, the number of VHS tapes being manufactured is slowly but surely decreasing. That said, the market for used TV VHS tapes is growing by the minute--as people replace their VHS collections with DVDs, they often put their VHS tapes up for sale on internet auction websites. However, these sites are also a good place to look if you're searching for new VHS tapes.
