Many musicians already know that some of the more unique "boutique"-style amplifiers come from the Soldano Custom Amplification Company. Soldano, simply put, creates and manufactures quality amplifiers for serious musicians. All Soldano amps feature tubes, and they are all hand assembled at their factory in Seattle. This is not to say that Soldano does not have a wide variety of amp offerings. One smaller Soldano amplifier is the Astroverb 16 model. This is a 20-watt single channel amplifier that has two speaker jacks that essentially give it plenty of room to grow. It features an Accutronic reverb tank for a full-on reverb "twang." It is available either as a combo or as a head-plus-cabinet model.
If you are looking for a larger amplification system, Soldano has several models available. Their Hot Rod 50 is a 50-watt amplification system that has a single channel head. The Hot Rod also comes with two separate input jacks for completely different sounds. There is a High Input jack for meatier metal sounds, and a Low Input for cleaner, rounder tones.
Perhaps the most popular--and consequently, most versatile--Soldano amplifier is their Decatone amp. The Decatone has a full three channels and 100 watts of amplification power. The channels are named Clean, Crunch, and Overdrive, and it is pretty obvious what each of their specialties is. All three of the channels have their own preamp and master volume controls, and the Decatone comes with its own foot channel selector for uninterrupted channel switching. Soldano amps are leaders in the industry for a reason--even a used Soldano amp can offer great sound.
