Magellan Roadmate

The Magellan RoadMate navigation system is a high-end GPS system comprised of eight different models that include either North American or European maps. The North American maps include the continental states as well as Canada, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The European models include 27 pre-loaded countries with corresponding maps.

Magellan RoadMate models include the 300, 360, 500, 700, and 760. All models feature voice-prompted navigation, turn-by-turn directions, interactive touch screens and user-friendly displays. The distinctions in models occur in hard drive space, information amount, screen size, and color quality.

The RoadMate 700 offers some of the most exclusive features from the Magellan line. The 700 model for North America is an automotive GPS system that comes standard with preloaded maps and address completion technology that helps the user enter addresses quickly and efficiently. This version, as well as the European version, features a 10 GB hard drive with a 32,000-color touch screen. The European version offers directions in six languages.

The Magellan RoadMate 760 is the top-of-the-line model from Magellan. This 20 GB GPS device features advanced touch-screen technology as well. The SmartDetour feature can guide you around jammed traffic on the freeway, helping save time. With this model, you just say where you want to go and it automatically plots the directions. Also, this GPS receiver can handle single or multiple destination directions and has almost one million pre-programmed points of interest (POIs).
