Kirks Folly is a family-owned business that began back in 1979. Sisters Jenniefer and Helen Kirk sat at a kitchen table one afternoon. Helen took an ordinary pair of chopsticks and in minutes had created two glitzy, ornate hair sticks. Jenniefer was so impressed that she began to negotiate with local department stores to sell Helen's creation. (The chopsticks were later called Glitter Sticks and still remain a part of the Kirks Folly inventory.)
Department-store shoppers loved the Glitter Sticks and soon the two sisters were forced to enlist the help of their other siblings in order to fill the orders. Today, Kirks Folly sells more than Glitter Sticks. Kirks Folly pins, charms, anklets, crosses, and earrings are part of the craze that has women everywhere believing that dreams really do come true.
