Weighing in at a mere six ounces, the Garmin eTrex GPS receiver is a
palm-sized navigation device. This handheld GPS device is designed for
use by fans of the outdoors, including hunters, boaters and campers. It
features 12 parallel channels for optimal reception and information. In
addition, it is only two inches wide and four inches high, so it fits
snugly into a pocket for easy access.
All five buttons on the Garmin eTrex are located on the sides of the
unit. This allows for one-handed use without visual obstruction of the
display. The Garmin eTrex is tough and durable, with a bright yellow
hard plastic casing. It is also energy- and cost-efficient; it will run
for 22 hours on only two AA batteries.
This GPS receiver is completely waterproof. You can splash it with
water or completely submerse it and it will still continue to work. The
eTrex will store up to 500 user waypoints and features the company's
TracBack feature that will help you find your way back home by reversing
the locations to which you've already been. Animated graphics, icons and
easy-to-read text are just some of the many features of the Garmin eTrex
GPS receiver.
