Picture this. You are on a family vacation that involves a long ride
in the car. However, from the back of the car, you hear no whimpering
of, "Are we there yet?" Instead, you either hear the sound of your
children's laughter, or the total silence that occurs when they are
completely absorbed in something that interests them. From your mirror,
you can see that they are too wrapped up in what's happening on the car
monitor to whine, fuss, or argue over whose leg is exceeding someone
else's personal space.
Car video and car TV have recently become popular additions to in-car
entertainment. Back seat car DVD players allow your children, friends,
and family to watch their favorite movies during long car trips. A few
systems even allow them to play their favorite video games. Most of
these car video and car TV systems incorporate the use of headphones.
Passengers will be able to hear the movies, but you can still enjoy your
radio programs up front.
You can either purchase a car DVD video player and car monitor
separately, or choose an integrated system. For systems with separate
components, the monitor is mounted on back of the front seat head rests.
If you choose a player/monitor combo, simply strap it onto the back of
the front seat.
Some car video systems allow you to connect to a car GPS navigation
system. This provides visual and spoken directions that guide you to
your destination through every turn. The ability to forgo paper map
navigation is an incredible benefit when you are driving through
unfamiliar territory.
