While it is generally known that Apple's iPods are some of the most
powerful small-scale music players in the business, it is also generally
known that they have a price tag to match their power. Never really
known as a "budget" computer manufacturer, Apple doesn't sacrifice on
quality and this is reflected in their pricing. Finding a cheap iPod can
be a difficult task if you're not willing to compromise.
If you are looking for the 60 GB iPod and you don't want to pay the
asking price, you are probably out of luck. While you might find a bit
of savings on these high-end models, you not likely to find anything
like a "cheap" 60 GB iPod. If, on the other hand, you are looking for an
iPod Mini or an iPod Nano, you may well be able to find something
affordable.
Both the iPod Mini and the iPod Nano are extremely powerful for their
size. The Mini can carry up to 1,000 songs, as can the Nano. The Nano is
literally pencil thin and has a full color display. It only needs to be
recharged every 14 hours, and like the larger iPods, you can also store
photos, podcasts, and audio books on it.
The great thing about the Mini and the Nano is that they are
extremely affordable. They make the phrase "cheap iPod" less of an
oxymoron in that they start at less than $200. Even though they have a
limited capacity in comparison to their bigger cousins, the Mini and the
Nano have the benefit of being extremely small and lightweight. This
actually makes them better suited for use during workouts or when going
on walks.
