| One of the downsides to being an early adopter of any console is paying full price for not only the new system, but its games as well. This, of course, allows you to play all of the games as soon as they are released, but it is certainly the most expensive route to take. With the Xbox 360 raising the bar on consoles, many people may write off the original Xbox system as a dinosaur of the gaming world. Although early adopters may lack patience when it comes to buying a system, they will definitely need it when it comes to waiting for upcoming games. But, when you purchase a console many years after it was first introduced, there's little time spent waiting for games to be released. If you pick up Halo, for example, and invest countless hours into the game and its gripping storyline, you have the option of buying Halo 2 as soon as you're finished. These days, you can buy Xbox games and Xbox consoles cheaply because they are in abundant supply. Just look online and you'll find plenty of new and pre-owned Xbox video games and systems. While popular titles can be hard to track down used, most games are readily available. This doesn't necessarily mean that all cheap Xbox games you will find online or at retail establishments will be used. In fact, many of the system's most popular titles experienced major price drops a year or so after their release dates. In the end, though, what this means for Xbox gamers is that many of the system's most popular titles are currently available either used or brand new at fractions of their original price tags. |
