Bombardier Recreational Products was founded by Joseph-Armand Bombardier. In 1937, he patented the first vehicle made to travel over snow and called it the B7 Snowmobile. Bombardier was a Canadian who was constantly working on ways to navigate through or over snow. At 15 years of age, he took the motor out of a Model T Ford and placed it in a four-person sleigh. He then attached a wooden airplane propeller to the vehicle and drove the unusual machine around town. What began as a way to get around and alleviate boredom during snowy winter months became a passion for Bombardier. In 1959, Bombardier introduced the Ski-Doo and the world was captivated. The Ski-Doo became so popular because it was the first small, recreational one-person machine and because it was more affordable than previous models.
Bombardier Recreational Products has grown into one of the leading recreational vehicle makers. Bombardier Recreational Products now has lines of personal watercraft and all-terrain vehicles in addition to their snowmobiles. One of their most popular ATV designs is the Bombardier Outlander.
The Bombardier Outlander is designed to be the ultimate ATV. The double A-arm front suspension, coupled with TTI independent rear suspension, provides the rider with a smooth ride. The Bombardier Outlander was designed to have more torque and power than any other ATV on the market, and as a result, is a very popular ATV for riding in the snow, along sand dunes or over rocky terrain.
