So you're looking for another excellent series you won't be able to put down? Want to find some characters you'll truly love, and the blackest villains you've ever imagined? I think I can help you. 'The White Road'
I simply can't say enough wonderful things about John Connolly. He is one of my favorite authors. His books are brilliant. They're so beautifully written you can't help but be impressed. Also, he writes about the settings so descriptively and creates such a sense of atmosphere you will never believe he isn't from the United States. The White Road is my favorite (so far!) but the series begins with 'Every Dead Thing'.
'Burning Angel (Dave Robicheaux Mysteries)'
The first novel in the Dave Robicheaux series is actually The Neon Rain. So if you're looking for a good place to start, it might be best to go through these in chronological order. However, I feel compelled to warn you that The Neon Rain is not the best in the series, so please don't be put off if you don't think it's that great. KEEP READING! You will be so glad you did. Burning Angel and 'In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead' are two of my favorites in the Dave Robicheaux series.
'Darkness, Take My Hand (Patrick Kenzie/Angela Gennaro Novels)'
Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro novels by Dennis Lehane. Darkness, Take My Hand is the second in the series, and it just keeps getting better. The first in the series is 'A Drink Before the War (Patrick Kenzie/Angela Gennaro Novels)', which was Dennis Lehane's first novel.
'Deal Breaker (Myron Bolitar Mysteries (Paperback))'
Myron Bolitar novels by Harlan Coben
The first one is a good place to start out.
'Killing Floor'
Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child
'Naked in Death (In Death (Paperback))'
Eve Dallas novels by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts
'Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter)'
Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton
Guilty Pleasures is the first in the series. As with the others, the books are enriched by the continuation of the series.
'A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry Novels (Paperback))'
Merry Gentry series, also by Laurell K. Hamilton
'Undead and Unwed (Berkley Sensation)'
Undead and Unwed is the first of MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy Taylor series. This book is a light read, but it is just fantastic fun. I thought it was hilarious and very refreshing. You'll need some humor after working your way through the other darker novels.
'Dead Until Dark (Southern Vampire Mysteries)'
The first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris
These are also light-hearted, charming, quick reads.
'Storm Front (The Dresden Files, Book 1)'
Harry Dresden series by Jim Butcher
These books aren't great literature, but they are amusing, entertaining reads.
'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)'
the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
Delightful and enchanting--if you haven't read these, you'll want to pick them up.
