Personal Background Information
My wife gave birth to our first son on July 15th, 2003. During her pregnancy I started thinking about the toys I played with as a young tot and discovered the "G1 Transformers" were back on the market.

By quickly doing a search, I discovered that there were 9 models of these "G1 Transformers" on Amazon.com and that they are almost exactly the same (some decals I guess are different; nothing major) as the transformers I had in the 1980s as a kid.

I have listed the transformers below to help fellow fans find these marvelous toys for their son (or daughter; my sister played with the transformers nearly as much as I did).

Skywarp

'Ex G1 Skywrap'

Content below from http://tfarchive.com/genone/g1skywarp.php

Skywarp was with Megatron and the other Decepticons when they attacked the Ark and crashed in it. It is unknown when he was created and when he joined the Decepticons, but there is evidence to suggest that he was around as far back as when the Decepticons were fighting the Guardian robots. When the volcano on Earth erupted, it awoke Teletran 1 and Skywarp was the first Decepticon to be reactivated. Skywarp’s first instinct was to awaken his leader, Megatron. When Skywarp and Megatron had all the other Decepticons rebuilt, they left the Ark in search of a new base of operations. Skywarp remained in the Decepticon army as a soldier. He was one of many Seekers on Earth, but after the Decepticons initial plan to build a ship was foiled by the Autobot, Mirage, Skywarp was one of only three Seekers, along with Starscream and Thundercracker. Three new Seekers, Ramjet, Thrust and Dirge, eventually joined the Decepticon forces on Earth a year later. Skywarp was loyal toward Megatron and would often get into arguments with Starscream, usually because Starscream was planning to betray Megatron somehow. Skywarp didn’t get along with a lot of his fellow Decepticons like Frenzy and Rumble along with Starscream. He did, however, have a close friendship with Thundercracker. Skywarp remained in the Decepticon army until the year 2005. During a large battle with the Autobots at Autobot City the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime, shot him down. He escaped from Autobot City on Astrotrain, but was jettisoned into space along with Megatron, Thundercracker and three Insecticons that could have been clones or the real thing, after the healthy Decepticons decided that they needed to get rid of excess weight. Skywarp and the other Decepticons floated through space until they were met by Unicron. Unicron made a deal with Megatron that involved Skywarp and the others being reformatted into new, stronger Transformers. It is unknown as to whether Skywarp was reformatted into Scourge, Cyclonus or the infamous “Armada”. But what is for sure is that his personality was erased and the new being that he was reformatted into was completely different from him.

Jazz

'Transformer G1 Jazz'

Content below from http://tfarchive.com/genone/g1jazz.php

Jazz was a high-ranking Autobot at the time that Optimus Prime decided they needed to search the galaxy for energon. He was part of the group of Autobots and Decepticons that crash-landed on Earth and lay dormant for four million years until the year 1984. As the Autobots and Decepticon restarted the Great War, Jazz took a leadership role as second in command of the Autobots. He would give orders to Autobots that seemed to be much older than him like Ironhide, Trailbreaker and Ratchet. Jazz’s fighting skills were much better than a lot of his Autobot companions, who didn’t consider themselves to be fighters. Jazz played an important role in a lot of missions, when Megatron was controlling the Autobots; Jazz and Bumblebee were the only Autobots that managed to avoid Megatron’s plan. Jazz and Bumblebee were able to stop Megatron with the help of Spike Witwicky and Jazz destroyed the rocket that the Decepticons built with a Musical Sonic Boom. When Optimus Prime was taken control of by the Decepticons, Ironhide took a leadership role amongst the Autobots. By this time, Jazz had been demoted to a regular Autobot soldier. Jazz still played an important roll within the Autobot ranks. When Starscream, Astrotrain and a group of Decepticons had taken control of a group of humanoids on Saturn’s moon, Titan, Jazz led a group of Autobots to foil their plans. Jazz was an important addition to the Autobot’s war against the Decepticons, but he also played an important social roll. He was interacted with humans very well because of his human behaviour. He often spoke with Spike and Sparkplug Witwicky. He was sent along with Cliffjumper to attend an unveiling ceremony of a statue of Optimus Prime that the humans built. At the unveiling ceremony, Starscream and the Combaticons captured him and Cliffjumper. Optimus Prime and the Autobots rescued them. Jazz developed a close friendship with Blaster over their years on Earth because of their similar personalities. Both loved earthen music, even though it usually drove the other Autobots crazy. By the year 2005, Jazz was stationed on Moon Base 1. They were planning to attack Cybertron, which was fully controlled by the Decepticons, but the Moon Base was attacked by Unicron. Unicron devoured the Moon Base with Jazz and Cliffjumper on it. The two met up with Bumblebee and Spike Witwicky and were going to be executed by being dropped into a pit of burning acid. Luckily, they were saved by Spike’s son, Daniel. They were able to escape Unicron with the help of Rodimus Prime. After Rodimus Prime took over as leader of the Autobots, Jazz’s role as a soldier was downgraded. He didn’t participate in any major missions and remained on Cybertron until the Golden Age.

Prowl

'Transformers G1 Prowl'

Note: Content below from http://tfarchive.com/genone/g1prowl.php

Prowl is one of the original Autobot cars, a Datsun 280ZX Police car to be exact. Prowl is known for being the Autobot’s top strategist. He’s a solid fighter and is close friends with the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. He’s known for thinking things through rather than jumping into the heat of battle without knowing his enemies’ capabilities. Some say that Prowl lacks charisma, but Prowl has shown that he has the ability to be an efficient field commander and a very good leader as well. Prowl’s toy is very popular. It sells for a higher price than any other season 1 Autobot other than Optimus Prime.
