UPDATED WEEKLY

LAST UPDATE: 1/15/05

I've written 2 listmania lists before entitled, "Greatest Movies" or "Quality Movies, no crap". Yet looking back on them I realized one glaring problem. A number of the movies on these lists, I have not even seen yet. To this day I have yet to watch a single Western, I have seen parts of the Godfather triology but never the whole thing, and I have not gotten around to watching some of the greats that should probably be on this: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Seven Samurai, any Alfred Hitchcock, any War movies (I would suggest Deer Hunter though, I saw the last half of it once, Russian Roulette scene is amazing), and any of the old classics from the thirties-sixties. I know I am forgetting many others, but those are the one's that stick out in my mind. Now I bring you my list of the greatest movies I have seen.

The List
1. 'Pulp Fiction (Collector's Edition)' - This was the movie that began my movie obsession, dialogue is close to unbeatable.
2. 'True Romance (Unrated Director's Cut) (Two-Disc Special Edition)' - It's a love story, kind of, only with guns, drugs, and Sicilians, One of the great endings in my mind (in the hotel, not on the beach).
3. 'Boyz N the Hood (2-Disc Anniversary Edition)' - Last 20 minutes are so powerful, but its the build up to it that makes it so powerful.
4. 'American History X' - Last 5 minutes are so powerful, build up makes it even more powerful than Boyz N The Hood. Not to mention one of the most bonechilling scenes I have ever seen.
5. 'Reservoir Dogs' - If you haven't noticed yet, I am a big fan of Quentin Tarantino.
6. 'Fight Club' - Smart, intelligent dialogue, good movie all the way through.
7. 'The Usual Suspects (Special Edition)' - Must-see ending.
8. 'Memento (Limited Edition)' - Interesting way to show movie, have to watch second time to fully comprehend.
9. 'Kill Bill, Volume 2' - Less of the action from the first one, more story.
10. 'Kill Bill, Volume 1' - Action packed, but not mindless action. Just flat out cool.
11. 'Scarface (Widescreen Anniversary Edition)' - Brian DePalma's take on the Howard Hughes movie. Al Pacino at his best. Great crime movie.
12. 'Snatch (Special Edition)' - Guy Ritchie's second film, hilarious.
13. 'The Boondock Saints' - Action, funny, and a very powerful scene towards the end.
14. 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (Ws)' - Guy Ritchie's debut movie, funny.
15. 'Fargo (Special Edition)' - Coen Brothers at their best, love the Minnesota accents. Great thriller, where one thing after another goes wrong.
16. 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Special Edition)' - One of the funniest movies of all-time.
17. 'Halloween (Divimax 25th Anniversary Edition)' - The greatest slasher movie ever.
18. 'Requiem for a Dream (Director's Cut)' - Very intense movie about drugs. Makes you want to never do drugs. Leaves you feeling...depressed.
19. 'Swingers (Miramax Collector's Series)' - Funny and cool. Invented the use of money as an adjective.
20. 'Bottle Rocket' - Wes Anderson's debut movie, funny, and heart touching.
21. 'A Clockwork Orange' - Stanley Kubrick, very interesting.
22. 'Get Shorty (Special Edition)' - John Travolta is at his second best as Chili Palmer, (first being Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction).
23. 'Seven (New Line Platinum Series)' - Thought provoking movie about the 7 sins.
24. 'Do The Right Thing - Criterion Collection' - Spike Lee at his best, thought provoking ideas about racial tensions.
25. 'Jackie Brown (Collector's Edition)' - Unappreciated movie, very good though.
26. 'The Killer' - Action packed love story by John Woo.
27. 'The Big Lebowski' - The funniest movie by the Coen Brothers, one of the great characters of cinema history: The Dude
28. 'Office Space (Widescreen Edition)' - Hilarious all the way through.
29. 'Taxi Driver (Collector's Edition)' - I haven't seen it in a while, but what I can remember of it, was very good story about loneliness, probably would be higher after watching it again.
30. 'Goodfellas (Two-Disc Special Edition)' - Once again haven't seen in a while, but what I can remember of it, very good and funny.
31. 'The Shining' - Another Kubrick, one of the freakiest movies.
32. 'American Psycho' - Interesting thriller, the end will get you.
33. 'Rushmore - Criterion Collection' - Wes Anderson's second movie, once again funny and touching.
34. 'Mission Impossible' - Very good spy movie, action is good.
35. 'Rounders (Collector's Edition)' - Poker movie, excellent portrayal of italso.
36. 'Heat (Two-Disc Special Edition)' - Action packed movie featuring DeNiro and Pacino, bank robbery scene is awesome.
37. 'The Silence of the Lambs (Widescreen Special Edition)' - Haven't seen in a while, but very good thriller featuring Anthony Hopkins at his best as Hannibal Lector.
38. 'Napoleon Dynamite' - All around funny.
39. 'Die Hard (Five Star Collection)' - The best action movie.
40. 'Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition with Bonus Disc)' - The only Star Wars movies.
41. 'Face/Off' - John Woo's only U.S. hit, showcases that he is the greatest action director.
42. 'Scream (Dimension Collector's Series)' - Slasher movie, but with thriller elements, actually has a good plot.
43. 'Punch-Drunk Love (Two Disc Special Edition) (Superbit Collection)' - A great, funny, intelligent story about loneliness and love. Adam Sandler at his best.
44. 'The Untouchables (Special Collector's Edition)' - Mob movie about Al Capone, great music and action.
45. 'Chinatown' - Probably should be ranked a lot higher, very smart mystery.
46. 'Ocean's Eleven (Widescreen Edition)' - Funny and cool, great cast.
47. 'Leon - The Professional (Deluxe Edition)' - Great movie. Probably should be higher.
48. 'Master of the Flying Guillotine' - Quentin Tarantino's all-time favorite kung-fu movie, mine also.
49. 'Enter the Dragon (Two-Disc Special Edition)' - Kung-Fu movie with Bruce Lee, great ending.
50. 'The Street Fighter' - Kung-Fu movie with Sonny Chiba, such a bad ass.

Update 1: Added- Fargo at 15. Dropped- 50. From Dusk Till Dawn - Only on here for the potential it had, was a great movie up until the vampires. If it weren't for the vampires, probably would be in top ten. God damn vampires.

Update 2: Added Requiem For a Dream at 18. Dropped- Five Deadly Venoms- While it is a Kung Fu movie with a somewhat good plot, the Kung Fu action just wasn't good enough.
