| Here are my favorite filmmakers
David Lynch
Probably my second favorite (next to TB), his film
challenge the mind and the eyes. Here is his body of
work:
'Mulholland Drive'
First time I saw it, I hated it. After repeat
viewings, the film makes soo much sense.
'Blue Velvet (Special Edition)'
Lynch hybrids love and dangerous lust in this creepy
masterpiece.
'Wild At Heart'
Not his best work, but excellent for sure.
'Twin Peaks - Fire Walk with Me'
Would be better if Hollywood released Lynch's full
cut, instead of this watered down crap.
'The Straight Story'
Lynch's turn as a softer-hearted, lighter, calmer
filmmaker.
'Lost Highway [IMPORT]'
My favorite Lynch film. Don't care what anybody
says.
'The Elephant Man'
Beautiful and heartbreaking. One of Lynch's best.
'Twin Peaks - The First Season (Special Edition)'
Very creepy and original TV series by Lynch.
'Eraserhead'
Insane, schizophrenic, disturbing. Hey, it's Lynch,
waddya expect?
'Dune (Extended Edition)'
Take a look at what could have been a masterpice.
Tim
Burton
Probably my favorite filmmaker, due to his wild
imagination. Here is his impressive body of work.
'Beetlejuice'
Creepy and Fast paced, mixed with Burton style
visuals.
'Big Fish'
Imaginative and heartwarming. Definetly noteable.
'Mars Attacks!'
Alot of people didn't get the satire that this was.
If you do, its a funny flick
'Ed Wood (Special Edition)'
Burton's love letter to cheesy B grade cinema.
'The Nightmare Before Christmas (Special Edition)'
My favorite Burton film. My favorite film. Hands
down.
'Edward Scissorhands (Widescreen Anniversary
Edition)'
Does one really need to say anything?
'Sleepy Hollow'
Dark, stylish, and a lot of fun.
'Batman'
The only director to do Batman right so far (I have
hope in Chris Nolan though)
'Planet of the Apes (Double Digipack)'
Tim Burton's forgive and forget....next...
'Batman Returns'
Excellent sequel to the excellent original.
Coming soon:
Charlie & The Chocolat Factory
The Corpse Bride
Quintin Tarantino
Who doesn't love Tarantino's witty dialouge and
clever visuals? Here is a body of his work.
'Reservoir Dogs'
Awesome gangster flick.
'Pulp Fiction (Collector's Edition)'
One of the best films ever made.
'Jackie Brown (Collector's Edition)'
Not his finest, but excellent for sure.
'Kill Bill, Volume 1'
Good, maybe a little to much action for my taste.
'Kill Bill, Volume 2'
Masterpiece. Surpasses Vol. 1 by a long shot
Stanley Kubrick
Must one really go into detail about why Mr. Kubrick
as a visionary?
'Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying
and Love the Bomb (Special Edition)'
A black comedy with a witty political commentary.
'A Clockwork Orange'
A disturbing but clever work of art.
'Killer's Kiss'
Kubrick's creepy earlier work
'Barry Lyndon'
Not a big fan of this flick.
'Paths of Glory'
Incredible. A Masterpiece.
'Eyes Wide Shut'
Raunchy and disturbing. But it's...good!
'Spartacus - Criterion Collection'
Flawed, but very well done.
'The Killing'
Some of Kubrick's film noir classics.
'Lolita'
Not much a fan of this one either.
'2001 - A Space Odyssey'
Haunts you for awhile. Extremely well done.
'The Shining'
One of the best horror flicks ever.
'Full Metal Jacket'
One of the best war movies ever.
'A.I. Artificial Intelligence (Widescreen Special
Edition)'
A would-be Kubrick classic, if Spielberg LEFT IT
ALONE!!!
Darren Aronofsky
Only 2 films, and already he cemented himself as a
talented and visionary filmmaker.
'Pi'
A creepy math thriller, that haunts you,
'Requiem for a Dream (Director's Cut)'
One of the best ever. Shocking, eye-opening,
disturbing, heart breaking, and beautiful.
David Fincher
Talented, visionary, and original. His body of work:
'The Game'
Excellent thriller flick.
'Panic Room (3-Disc Special Edition)'
Fincher is excellent at making good thrillers.
'Alien 3 (Collector's Edition)'
The best looking bad movie I have ever seen.
'Seven (New Line Platinum Series)'
A classic.
'Fight Club'
One of my favorites of all time.
That's all folks. |
