If you have kids, then diaper rash is something you have had to deal with from time to time at one point or another. It does happen for many reasons which I won't go into. Since we all know them.
But I will say that I have three kids and with each child there have been times that my little green can of miracle cure has come out for a visit.
When my nephew was an infant and was teething, he had to worst diaper rash To the point his bum was bleeding. My sister-in-law was a firm believer in Desitin. Which never took care of the problem.
One reason why I hate desitin, is because it's hard to smear on, and it's even worse to take off. It sticks so well that it may take some of that tender skin with it. Which is the problem with most commercial diaper rash treatment ointments.
Yikes!!!!!
And even when I watched him for a day and almost had his bum cured. Plus I told her of the miracle cure, and sent some home for him to use. She still refused to give it a go, and the desitin came back out. I never did understand that one, but anywho.......
And just think the crying child of having a painful diaper change could have almost been avoided.
By this little green can that has been around since 1899.
Yes it's bag balm. It can be found in the most stores that carry supplies for cattle and horses. But I know our local wal-mart carries it in the pet department.
This is taken directly from the bag balm web site.
Used for over 100 years on cattle, horses and other domestic animals. It’s loaded with lanolin! For CATTLE: Helps soothe small injuries, rash chapping; massage on caked bag. Softens and moistens skin.
This ointment has the texture of vasoline, so it's easy to work with and apply. It does have a little odor, but not one that I found repulsive.
But because it works so well, I highly recommend this ointment for diaper rash or when you suspect you might have diaper rash appear. (because of medication side effects. Some antibiotics are notorious for giving children diarrhea, and then you know diaper rash is just around the corner. So stay on top of the ball, and use this product to avoid it.
If you don't like the little can. The lid pulls off easily and doesn't screw on. You might want to purchase another container of choice and put this into. I did that with the container that I kept in my diaper bag. Less chance of a mess by doing that.
Hope that helps. And prevent diaper rash or cure it with this product. It has the healing powers of lanolin. And we all know how that helps for many products. Many ointments for sore nipples for breast feeding mothers, have the main ingredient of lanolin.
