| Although there are already some very good So
You’d Like To’s out there on Buffy, I thought I’d
add my own in commemoration of the upcoming last
original episode.
The
Series
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete First
Season' - Tidbit – SMG was originally considered
for the Cordelia role and had to audition over and
over again in order to get the Buffy role. And now,
who could ever imagine anyone else as Buffy! Also,
only 12 episodes in Season 1, which is the most
episodic of the seasons but still has GREAT writing.
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Second
Season' - Season 2 starts in on one of Joss’s
great story arcs, this one involving Buffy and
Angel, and boy is it a doozy! GREAT season that goes
out with a bang!
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Third
Season' - Senior year and the introduction of
Faith, the other Slayer (since Buffy technically
died from drowning at the end of Season 1, that
activated Slayer Kendra who was introduced and also
died in Season 2, which made way for the
introduction of Slayer Faith in Season 3). Very fun
season. But also heartbreaking since Buffy and Angel
have to sacrifice their future together for the good
of humanity.
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Fourth
Season' - First year of college and the
introduction of yummy Riley!
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Fifth
Season' - Season 5: The beginning of the
downslide, as far as I'm concerned. Although there
are still gems of episodes in here and Spike's
resistant transformation into a love stuck puppy is
priceless!!!!!
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Sixth
Season' - The first season the contain episodes
that actually made me go "Ick"...and not in a good
way.
The
Spin-Off
'Angel - Season One' - Angel may have had to
leave Buffy, but at least he got his own series as a
consolation. I really enjoyed this season.
'Angel - Season Two' - Pylea - What a GREAT
idea!!! A medieval-style fantasyland populated by
monsters and humans alike, and where Angel didn't
burst into flames when exposed to the sunlight. As
one reviewer states, "It shouldn't have worked, as
hokey as it was... but it did, thanks to crack
storytelling, sharp dialogue, and the sheer joy the
actors unleashed." Amen!!!
'Angel - Season Three' - Hmmm. It was the best
of years, it was the worst of years. Darla giving
birth....now THAT was one of the most memorable
moments in television history!!!! Cordy ascending,
with Angel descending...a weak, unsatisfying and
perplexingly out of left field season finale (even
after understanding it more fully through the
explanation given at the end of Season 4).

dalliance with good and evil; Angel's path to

ambivalent about God's existence and ostensibly
secular, it "offers a deep spiritual core that is
based in ethical behavior." A "spiritually eclectic"

self-sacrifice and redemption guide the slayer and
her friends in their battles with evil
