"How can I disassemble my hp photosmart m447 digital camera?"

I somehow got sand/an unknown gritty materal inside the camera, specifically inside the zoom gears. I want to clean it, but I can't for the life of me get it apart. I found 5 screws in the bottom, but removing them does little to get it apart. Is there a method of release? Or maybe some more hidden screws? Four of them were in plain sight, one was under the battery cover.I really don't want to get it repaired by hp unless I really need to (no warranty).

First buy a new camera.Second you will probably have to break the case to get it open.Third once you break the case it probably wont go back together. If you did get it back together the sensors on the lens will probably be off just enough.Never owned an HP but thats basically what happened with my Kodak point and shoot.To get it fixed will probably be more than the camera is worth. Even if you did get it fixed theres bound to be something else wrong with it in the near future.Get the extended warranty, if you had it on this one you wouldnt be trying to take it apart.
