Intensive English Program Description (IEP Description: www.iep.utsa.edu)

The UTSA Intensive English Program is a small, friendly place to learn English. Students can study in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Come to UTSA and make friends. You will enjoy the kind, professional teachers and the wonderful students who come from all over the world. In addition, you will live in San Antonio, which is a great place to live- full of the kindness of the American Southwest.

It is easy to join our program. You have to be 17 years old and a high school graduate. You also need to know a little English. That is all. Just fill out and send an application.

Students study 24 hours per week. Our classes are Academic preparation classes and include:
     Reading and Vocabulary
     Writing and Grammar
     Listening, Speaking, and Pronunciation
     Culture
     TOEFL Preparation

Our classes are divided into High Beginning, Intermediate and High Intermediate. In addition, we have advanced ESL courses that you can take for credit in the university once you have a 500 PBT/173+ TOEFL score.

  • Conditional admission for undergraduates with TOEFL scores between 133-172 CBT
  • Full access to university facilities: computing, medical, recreational, library
  • Conversation Partners Program

IEP Costs Per Semester: are subject to change. Please contact us for latest costs.

  • Tuition: $2,650
  • Books, mandatory health insurance and university fees: Approximately $625.
  • Housing: $1,925 - $2,525, depending on size of apartment and number of roommates
  • University Meal plan: $1,924 per semester.

While there you can shop and enjoy wonderful restaurants that are next to the beautiful river that runs through downtown.
