(1 stars) - who cares about the styler, the company is a RIPOFF, see my email to them!
Dear Instyler

I just ordered your product November 18th, I haven't even received it yet, and I'm getting spam email as well as telephone calls on my CELL PHONE from telemarketers "calling on behalf of Instyler" trying to bill my DEBIT CARD for coupons and garbage.

I am completely furious about this. I ordered your product online and I did NOT check the box that asked if I want to be contacted by 3rd party affiliates. I DO NOT want to get spammed and telemarketed!

My next issue. Your company shared my personal information without my permission. These companies have my phone number, address, and worst of all, my debit card number. My DEBIT CARD! My bank account.

I called your customer service number, was hung up on once, then told that it was a company called DEALMAX's fault. So I called Dealmax and they have no idea what I am talking about. I don't care who may be in control of it now. Ultimately I trusted Instyler with my personal information and you broke that trust. Instyler shared my personal information, not Dealmax. Also, just so your aware, I made these phone calls from my office phone, which has a handy little feature called the RECORD button. I have the conversations recorded.

At this point I don't care how good your product is, your business ethics SUCK. I don't want your product and I don't want to do business with your company. I want my money back (all of it, every penny) and I will continue to use my Revlon flatiron, that I bought from Amazon. Because they don't give my personal information to TELEMARKETERS without my permission!

In conclusion, I want a FULL refund, even the seven dollars I paid to jump to the head of the shipping line because your product is so highly in demand.

And then, YOU can contact the companies that you gave my personal information to, and YOU can make sure that they do NOT call or email me again and that my personal information is destroyed.

If you do not give me a FULL refund of every penny you debited from my now compromised account, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Sharing peoples personal information without their permission is ILLEGAL. I did NOT give those telemarketers my debit card information. INSTYLER did. Without my permission.

Then, I will get on every website and every blog on every search engine I possibly can and post this email to make sure that no other innocent consumers get ripped off by your company!

A full refund is the only redeeming value you have at this point.

I will not settle for anything less, and I don't want any apologetic emails or phone calls. I want resolution. Immediately. I don't pay a dime for an attorney, I work for one, so please don't make him necessary. I will sue your company for sharing my bank account information, and compromising my finances if I have to.

I was able to use the InStyler for 5 minutes...before it broke. Prior to that, it did not work as was seen on TV. It did absolutely nothing with my hair...straighten or curl. Overall, I am very dissapointed with this product and would never recommend it to others! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(5 stars) - Works great and straightens my hair
I bought this device at the local BJ's and have fallen in love with it. I've got shoulder length hair that's frizzy and which is medium heavy in density. Well, normally I look like I have a lions mane of hair that's a nightmare and I end up with it in a ponytail. For the past two days, I've managed to flatten and somewhat curl my hair. I go carefully but I've found within 10 to 15 minutes my hair is nice and smooth.

The moving roller seems to work well and I've had no faulty issues with it. I'm quite happy actually as I normally hate curling irons and usually avoid doing anything to my hair. Normally, I wash it and let it dry for the next day. I never know if I'll wake up looking great or awful. :) Now, I always have a way to make it look good. The best part is, I've been able to get away from styling it daily. :)

I would definitely buy this again.

I must say though - don't buy this device if you have really short hair. It's not designed for super short hair. Also, Sally's Beauty supply sells a glove to protect your hand so you can wrap hair around the iron without burning yourself.

(5 stars) - Pleasantly Surprised!
I have to say, I was a complete skeptic on this product. But, after using it I'm a believer. My hair looks incredible - shiny and bouncy! It's very easy to use and quick. This will save me a lot of styling time on my hair in the morning. If you're not very good at using styling tools, it will take some time to get used to but the heat guard is great for novices. I haven't tried curling yet but I am excited to see the results. This product is definitely worth the purchase and I would recommend it to anyone with unruly curly hair.

I have thick hair with tight "S" curls that frizzs easily. I did straighten may hair, but it was limp; nothing like the texture I get after using my FHI flat iron. There is no cool tip at the end to hold while straigthening your hair, which makes it very awkward & hard to use and I burned the tip of my ear in the process. It took over 30 to 45 minutes longer than usual to style my hair from wet and dry & I had to do it over again with my flat iron. The materail feels and appears cheaper than what it sold for. I called for a refund number and the nice salesman offered me a cool tip attachment for the iron, along with a special conditioning treatment to remedy the limp hair problem, but a week later I called and customer service had not mailed it or had no record of it. This person was not as nice, so I demanded a refund number because my 30 day trial was running out. I can imagine that is how they get a lot of sales, by hoping we will either forget or lose something. I returned it and promptly got a refund; however, I would not recommend this one to any one with my type hair. If you do purchase it, make certain you keep every thing in the box in tact and record your conversations when you call or confirm it in writing. As I said, they did not have any record of the agreement to mail additional items to me or even that my 30 day trail period was extended.
