Worked great. Had an issue with DirecTV so I sent it back and canceled thier service.

Very fast shipping. Product performs as advertised. Menus do not appear to be any faster or slower than other models I have owned other than the Tivo HR 20.

The higher storage capacity allows recording of up to 100 hours of MPEG-4 HD or up to 400 hours of SD programming.

The front panel lights seem to be not as bright as the previous HR2x's from DirecTV. The temperature of this model is lower than other models I have owned.

I prefer this black model over my previous silver models.

So far, a good product overall.

The item was as described with all cables and remote. I like the larger hard drive which gives more recording capacity. The delivery was very fast and setup with Directv was effortless.

Excellent product, shipped fast and was a new unit. The DVR software is amazing compared to the comcast/time warner software. Included HDMI cable and RF remote are also huge bonuses. Only downside is HR23 has no coaxial line out to feed an extra TV from the receiver. There are multiple outputs and all are active simultaneously so you can feed multiple TV's. All in all receiver is great.

I just had one of these installed as an upgrade from the regular R22 non-HD DVR. I found out during the process that there is now a software update for the old non-HD DVR that allows them to receive HD signals and that there is no other difference between them except for the extra $100 DirecTV wants you to pay for the HD box! We kept the old DVR - now HD capable - and moved it to another room. But be aware that if you only want to upgrade from the older non-HD DVR to an HD DVR that you do not have to buy a new box - just get the software update! Save the money! Aside from that the DVR works fine. It plays, it records. Couldn't live without one now that we've had a DVR so long.
