Product Reviews (3 stars) - Good book I liked this book although I already knew some of the things she discusses. It was very informative.
(5 stars) - Easy understanding and very pratical I really enjoyed it. I was worried about spoiling my baby too much in the first months and it gave me new perspective. I am a first time parent and it has really good and easy to do tips. I loved it!
(1 stars) - Better Books out there with more details I brought this book before I had my daughter because I was a first time mom and didn't have my family close by so I needed a type of reference book. After having my daughter I felt that this book really didn't have much information in it. There are much better books. I felt like she didn't but as big an emphasis on breast feeding and how important it is. Furthermore, she has one philosophy on getting your child to sleep and that is 'the cry it out method' which I really didn't like. This is becoming an outdated method and there is evidence nowadays that this can really damage your child. There are alternative methods in getting your child to sleep and she never mentioned any of these.
I also felt that she seemed to put a huge emphasis on day time routines but didn't really offer any advice about how to get your baby into those routines. I do think it is evident that she has never had her own baby and doesn't understand the bond that you have with your child and how that influences the way you take care of him/her.
There are some good safety tips in the book and it does give you some information on vaccine schedules and I like the growth charts but this information can be found in any baby book.
(5 stars) - Great book! This book has a lot of helpful advice my daughter is ten months old and most of the time she goes to sleep on her own without even crying as soon as I lay her down. I'm not very strong when it comes to letting her cry it out my husband had to be the mean one. It's really hard to get through that part but it's so worth it! I believe every new mother would benefit greatly from this book!
(4 stars) - Straight to the point. No verbal garbage here. I liked the way this book was organized, and found the illustrations useful. Joe Frost's no-nonsense approach to child care makes her a favorite in this family, and I gave her book to my daughter who is expecting her first child in December.
