Product Reviews (4 stars) - Good I needed a thin USB drive with at least 16GB to carry in my wallet. After I bought this product, I saw at Fry's a fingernail-size Patriot 8GB stick drive. I could have bought two and still carry them comfortably. The purple extension that clicks in and out like a ball pen makes it lengthy. If Sony could modify the design and make the USB slide like a SanDisk, that would be ok. I rated this 4 stars out of 5. One star minus due to its lengthy design. Still, it is a good product.
(4 stars) - I like its size I like it for 3 reasons: 1) small size - fits in any USB slot even when crowded by other devices - especially appreciated on laptops where the USB slots are awfully close together 2) no cap to lose 3) good capacity.
Cons: a) flimsy plastic cover b) my coworker keeps taking it home, I guess because he likes it so much ;-)
(5 stars) - tiny but workable! I love sony's product many years ago, and this one also don't disappoint me! Sony's product always give me surprise!
cons: 1. big storage
2. fast speed
3. good looking
4. material of the disk is good, ductile not brittle...
pros: 1. if you compress all the files in the usb, everytime you have to decompress every single file if you open it on another computer. One good way to solve it is: don't compress every file! So actually, you can not store as many as 16x3=48 GB, but 16GB itself for me is completely enough for a tiny flash disk..
(4 stars) - Coming back for the Sony reliability, but not the pretty diode I have owned the 2Gb Sony Vault for over 4 years now, and that thing has been put through the ringer. In other words, I have treated it like traditional hard disk memory with saving to, copying/cutting from/to, the 2Gb vault extremely large amounts of data with no problems whatsoever. Before my Sony 2Gb Vault I owned a Lexar Jump Drive and two other brands that I cannot recall the brand names of, and all of these other brands gave me strange problems, like cannot find the file, cannot copy/paste the file, etc. The Sony 2Gb Vault has been sturdy, durable and reliable for several years and running. For the little extra cost you pay, it is well worth it. I am buying this 16Gb Sony Vault based solely on my past experience with the Sony 2Gb Vault. The only drawback is that Sony added that silly light-up feature, which for those of us working in high traffic office environments screams "hey, look over here, yeah, I am a free memory stick for anyone to take for their own, or if you so desire just take me, copy me, and put me back while the owner is away to lunch!" In other words, the security of the memory has been tarnished by a stupid light-up feature. My previous Sony 2Gb Vault did not have the light-up feature. What was Sony thinking to add a stupid light to a memory stick? Of course, you can take the Sony 16Gb Vault out of the USB slot and put it in your pocket and take it with you to lunch, but that is troublesome and increases the possibility of losing it. For this reason, I give it 4 stars and not 5.
(4 stars) - Only way to improve it would be to make it out of aluminum Very functional device and I would only like to make it a little more durable for my work environment.
