This product performed as advertised! It works! The software is easy to use. You can still import the saved file to another movie program. The only negative is the noise it makes when it works with the VHS-C's adapter. The noise does not change the way it works. I would buy this product again.

I use VHS 2 Pc to record VHS tapes to DVD. When I record the video is excellent bur the soud is terrible.

this is a priceless item to own if you have old vhs tapes that you want to keep, saving old movies or memorys to a computer and puting them on dvd is very awsome highly recommend this others!

Software installed easily on Vaio with XP. Hardware works fine. Capture software is easy to use and makes good copies. Note that tapes don't last forever - I found some tapes have bad spots, and even on good tapes the quality isn't up to the standards of modern digital cams. But for archiving a backup of cherished old tapes, it does a good job. Makes mpg files and takes about 2 gigs of disk per hour of tape.

I have many many tv shows tapes on VHS that I wanted to be able to watch on my iphone. After much research, this product seemed to be the solution, although I was hesitant because of the negative reviews both here and on other sources. (I did not want to buy a VCR DVR combo because I didn't want to put the files on DVD; I wanted to put the files direct to my hard drive. Nor did I want to buy any type of hardware that I would have to install on my computer (like a video card or sound card) as I don't consider myself to be a technical person. I have a 4 year old Dell PC running windows xp with 2.6 ghz processor, 2 GB RAM and a lot of other memory.

Initial setup was very easy; it almost took longer to take this out of the box than it did to set it up on my computer. All of the drivers on the installation disk were up to date. The download of 2 hour video to my computer was very easy and straitforward. Copying the downloaded file to iphone format was difficult; I wanted to change the format to mpeg4 and couldn't figure out how to make the ion software do that. However, on the recommendation of CNET I purchased the software "Any DVD Converter for IPOD" which easily converted the file to iphone format (although it took over an hour). I copied the reformatted file to itunes, synched my phone and everything is playing just fine. Sound tracking and video quality are just fine.

I wish I could figure out how to use the ion software to go direct to iphone format; I'm missing something somehow. With the DVD Converter workaround, however, I now have my VHS videos on my iphone and that's all I wanted to do. I'm very pleased.
