I bought this as my first venture into IP Security. I must admit, that at this price, it's a steal of a deal. Of course, low light visibility is no good as it is not a day/night. For home users, I would recommend the Trendnet line anytime. Excellent product for my needs. Next stop, Day/Night PTZ for outdoors.

This camera is a nice compact one. It is average quality but it is easy to set up and works good.

I bought two of these cameras and set them up inside my home after several houses in my neighborhood were burglarized. I own mostly Macs and I am using the excellent EvoCam software by Evological to manage the cameras and allow me to view them via the web on a single web page. This software allows for more flexibility in responding to motion detection. For example, using an AppleScript I can queue intimidating music on my home stereo. One of the cameras is hardwired to my Time Capsule. The other is connected to an Airport Express (also used for AirTunes). These cameras do not offer good quality images in low-light conditions, however, motion detection still works very well, which is all that I need. One of the reviewers essentially complained that Trendnet was not able to help them configure their home network for them. You cannot expect a company that sold you a budget camera to then provide you with IT training. If you don't know the difference between a LAN and a WAN or what a port number is, then hire your son's techie friend to install these for you.

The software is bad and support is awful. After wirking on this for over a month I gave up.... Cannot view over internet. Support gives brief answers that are usually irevelent......................

I agree that the quality is not 'that' great, but i'm not sure what people are expecting at this price range. All I wanted was something to allow me to keep an eye on the inside of my house and my animals while I'm at work. This fits the bill fine at a very affordable price. I have one very long room that the camera works much better for, in the smaller room where i have one, it's tough to position the camera to get a good view of the room, so I can only get a portion. May want to consider something else if it's a fairly small space.
