Product Details TEST YOUR DOG FOR HEARTWORMS BEFORE STARTING ANY HEARTWORM SUPPLEMENTS. YOUR VET CAN DO THIS TEST FOR YOU.
Heartworm disease is the potentially fatal condition where adult heartworms live in and clog a dog's heart, pulmonary arteries and blood vessels. Valuheart prevents heartworm disease in dogs by eliminating the heartworms during the development stage in the dog's muscle and fatty tissue.
Product Reviews (5 stars) - Wait and see? It is hard to give a star rating on a preventative medication. Valuheart is an Ivermectin product. The drug has been around for years and has been mostly effective if used properly. Any review that states THIS drug failed would need to be honest about any lapse in treatment. Also, it can take 6 months for heart worms to mature and cause a dog any kind of symptoms at all. If you want your dog to be safe....DO NOT ALLOW TREATMENT TO LAPSE FOR MORE THEN 30 DAYS. No matter what drug you give your dog, if you fail to administer even one dose, or your dog vomits the dose up, you are not protected. These drugs are not meant to kill the adult heart worm, but rather some stage of development before it becomes an adult. A better way of thinking of heart worm medication would be as a control. It is used to kill the earliest stages of heart-worm development by causing nervous system damage to the larval form of the parasite. That means that we are assuming that the parasite has infected your dog in the last 30 days, the time since the last treatment, and the dose due is administered to control this new crop of parasite.
So if the dog is not treated at the right time, with the correct dose, the parasite will survive to become adults.
(1 stars) - Item does no good Valuheart Large Dog Heartworm 6 Tabs 45-88 Lbs Gold Compare to Frontline Plus
Need to know that this product does not work. Used this product both dogs
have heart worms. Spent $800 on vet bills getting the worms out of one dog. The other probably will not make it within the next year. In talking to the Vet. He stated the particular drug in these pills will no longer
control heartworms. Several people in our area have had to have the dogs treated that were taking this same drug. This item gives people false
hope. "Do not buy this drug thinking it will control heartworms."
(5 stars) - Great Value Substantial savings over "name brand" item. Same active ingredient and strength. Easy to dose. Will buy again.
(5 stars) - Kept our dogs healthy so far We've been giving this to our dogs since... forever and, as far as I know, they never had a heartworm problem.
I believe that we are saving quite a bit of money by going with this brand. As far as the fancier, meat-flavored varieties... I can't see why one would pay a premium money for it. All we do is we crush the pill and mix it inside a meatball or something else that's delicious and the dogs eat them and keep asking for more.
I will continue to use this in the future. To save a bit of money, if you have small dogs, buy the 'large dog' then cut the pills.
(1 stars) - Valuheart Large DOg Heartworm Never received the product! Now I have to check to see if I was CHARGED for it. Not a vendor I would buy from again.
