The TV-IP312W is compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b wireless networks and supports advanced encryption modes including WEP, WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK. In addition to MPEG-4, 3GPP is also supported for viewing on a mobile phone. There is a built-in USB port for storing images directly onto a USB flash or hard drive. The included software includes motion detection recording, scheduled recordings, email alerts, and progressive search.

(4 stars) - Convenient, reasonably priced, good customer service, but finicky
Kind of a pain to set up, not for networking novices. But after it's set up it works great in general. Had some problems after a year or so with it intermittently not working wirelessly but it got dropped a few times too. Overall its the best option available.

Great product, good quality. Does things others don't for half the price. Suprised at how quiet this thing is when moving. Night vision is impressive. Being used as a high tech baby monitor ;-)

Finally one that works. The web cam was extremely easy to setup and it worked well. The video is excellent and the accompanying software is good. I tried another web cam by Linksys and compared to this it was junk. I sent it back. Only difficulty so far is getting the email notification to work. Support is excellent. I would recommend you sign up for free DDNS with [...]. Overall I would definitely recommend this product.

Having read the Amazon reviews for the IP312W I expected some degree of difficulty in setting up the camera. It ended up being much tougher. I'm not an IT specialist but have set up wireless networks and devices to work over the internet. However I could simply not get the IP312 to work over the internet. Actually I still have not gotten it to work on my wireless network. I gave up and am waiting for someone from my company's IT department to assist in setting up the wireless connection. I was able to get the camera to work while connected via an Ethernet cable. The picture quality is excellent. Also the night mode works extremely well. The software is pretty straightforward. If only setting up the camera were as easy! If the camera were simply plug and play it would be 4-5 stars. However the difficult setup coupled with very poor instructions have me giving only 3 stars. TRENDnet could have a real winner here if it improves its instructions and the ease of use.

Bought several of these and Panasonics. Night coverage is pretty good with this, but distance is short at night. I really like the PTZ version better, but this is a good camera for the price. Setup with access over the Internet with no problems. Emails me photos when it detects motion. Highly reccomend for remote coverage of a cabin or dog, etc.
