First, only the UNeducated will buy a battery, because any $59 drill set (or other tool they offer) will usually come with TWO batteries. The fact that these sell for $30+ each anywhere is a joke.

Secondly, I agree with other reviewers that the newer batteries simply do not hold a charge as long as their older ones. (If you look closely, the batteries are date stamped.) My originals from 4-5 years ago hold a better charge than those bought in the last couple of years...in fact, each batch seems to be worse.

Third, a bad charger (and yes, they malfunction without warning - especially the 'fast chargers') can ruin the battery attached to it. Nice quality control there, B&D.

It's a shame I can't give these batteries a ZERO star rating.

This blower is sold as a cordless broom for hard surfaces. The blower velocity and charge is perfect to remove leaves and pine straw from my hot tub, patio table, chairs, deck and three flights of outdoor stairs. It is not a leaf blower suitable for big lawns.

The batteries provided with these products are a "joke." The best thing you can do for yourself is NOT PURCHASE any of the items in this tool set.. Battery life, charging times and overall useability are the absolute poorest I have ever seen. Repeat--DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

According to the experts at Battery World, you have to deep cycle this battery pack. They suggest that when you finishing using the battery on your tool, connect the battery to the Black and Decker 18V flashlight to discharge the battery fully. Then charge it for 16-24 hours on the slow charger.

It is like my Blower is new again,I can do all my work with just one battery.
