Product Details Fundex 28280 Rage Card Game (1 Each)
Product Reviews (4 stars) - The perfect game night filler As a hardcore boardgamer one problem that crops up once in a while is what to do if a game goes faster than normal, it's too early to go home but too late for a new game of substance. One of our crowd introduced Rage in this situation and did it fill the bill.
Rage plays sort of like Whist. Instead of 4 suits you have 6 color based suits and a random trump suit. Each player bids on the number of tricks they will take.
Now for the twists. The number of cards you play in a hand decreases each turn starting from 10 down to the last hand when you have one. In addition special cards allow the trump suit to change or be removed.
You get 10 points for making a bid (except a 0 bid that's worth 5) and one point per trick and if you want one more curve ball there are cards that give +5 or -5 points to whoever takes a trick.
End result? A fast interesting game that a group of 6 can finish in under an hour. One variation that we play is to start with 1 card and go up to ten rather than the reverse as it leads to a closer game.
Anyways it is fast, fun and very inexpensive. A real winner for both your time and your money. You don't have to be a gamer to love it.
Buy it.
(4 stars) - Good fun. This was a gift for someone who absolutely loved this game & wore out cards continually.
(5 stars) - Surprised & Glad to See It Back in Production - some changes Our much used family Rage deck was showing a lot of wear. Some cards were in two pieces and taped together. My wife was pleased to see four of this new edition in a department store for only $3.77 each, so she grabbed them all (not to "hoard," mind you ... giving them to our grown kids). For those new to the game, however, note that the printed rules in this new edition have some significant changes. E.g. in the original, "Wild Rage" can be made any number ("0" if you want to lose the trick,"16" if you want to win it), but in the new, the rules say that the Wild Rage is the highest of its color. "Change Rage" in the original brings a random change to the trump, but in the new, the player gets to choose the trump. In the original, a special card cannot win a trick, in the new, it can if it is the first played and all others are also special cards. In scoring, the new version does not give a -5 for missing your bid, and only +5 for those who successfully bid zero. Although we have not tried the new rules, my impression is that they are not improvements, and I would recommend newcomers joining us "purists" and playing it the original way. Either way, have fun, it's a great game!
(5 stars) - this is really an adult card game similar to pinocle this card game captures your attention. I can play it for hours. It's very challenging. A must for every household
(5 stars) - Great game I love collecting card games to play with friends on a nice, quiet evening. I own such classics as "Phase 10," "Uno," and "Skip Bo." Since I have had these games for a long time, I wanted to add a new title to my collection. I certainly couldn't have opted for a better choice than with "Rage".
"Rage" is a superb card game from a great company: Fundex, who have made such classics as "Phase 10" and "Hit the Deck." So how can you go wrong? The answer is, you can't.
The cards have a nice look: "Rage" (with the lightning and all) is printed on the back. The cards themselves have four suits and, of course, there are wild cards.
"Rage" is like a combination of Uno and Phase 10 (two greats!). To play, there are 10 rounds. In the first round, each player gets ten cards. The player to the dealer's left (as is customary in the card-playing world) starts the first "trick" (this means that each player puts down one card). The goal of the game is to win as many tricks as possible (by putting down the highest number, of course!), while correctly predicting exactly how many tricks you will walk away with. At the end of each round, the points will be tallied up.
"Rage" features a lot of fun card play, coupled with an element of guessing. The game-play is easy, swift, and smooth, and always full of suspense; and sometimes, turn-around victories. A great game for anyone who likes to have fun (I think that means everyone. Get the idea?).
