(1 stars) - Should have been better -- weak alarm and confusing
Had hoped for a quality unit but whoever designed the controls never had to use it. Totally non intuitive.

Alarm is NO where near loud enough for anyone but the lightest sleeper.
Tried to go to bed listening to a cd and let it run out. Then woke up late because the alarm didn't go off.

Try again Sony!

I replaced an old similar Sony clock radio, that the vacuum cleaner ate, with a new Sony. It's the best ever.

(3 stars) - wonderful for 1 month
The CD playing function for my unit failed within a month of purchase. During this time, I've used the CD function for about 5 times. Even before it completely died, I have had occasional trouble with playing CDs (ie, the same disc will play great for an hour, then goes kaput the next). Hopefully this was an isolated incident. I am in the process of trying to get an exchange with Amazon. It would really be a shame if I have to return this product for good; it was perfect while it lasted.

(4 stars) - Nice little cd player/radio alarm
The first Sony dream machine I ordered was defective, the CD player didn't work. I contacted Amazon and they sent me a new one before I even sent the defective one back. Great service. The second one worked fine. I like the small size for the bedroom and the controls are easy to use, even in the dark. Sound is about what you'd expect for a small player. We had seen these at Hotel Indigo and really liked them, so I ordered one. Both items came in a timely manner, in fact the second one came within two days of letting Amazon know there was a problem.

I've been very pleased, I listen to sleep music on it all night and the radio in the morning. The alarm is a fairly pleasant (as pleasant as any alarm) that gradually gets louder the longer it beeps.

Happy with the machine and really happy with the service.

(5 stars) - Great Clock Radio
Got this clock radio to replace one that was over 20 years old. Part of the reason I waited so long to replace the old one just could not find the right one, well I think this was a great reaplcement. The 15 presets are nice, and easier to use. The MP3 input is easy to use, and works with any MP3 player. The two alarms is a great idea, love the fact you can wake to buzzer, CD, or Radio. If you choose CD or Radio you can select the preset station or CD track that you want to wake up to. You can also adjust the volume seperately for the alarms. With the ablitiy to set the track and preset radio station, you do not have to be listening to that station or CD at night. Also, with the volume being able to be set seperately you won't have a rude wake up call if you forgot to turn the radio down the day before. It also auto set the clock, all you have to do is select your timezone. I pulled mine out of the box and it had the time set and was ready to go.

It does not read MP3 cds, it will only read standard audio CDs, so if you want to listen to your MP3s you will have to use the MP3 input with you MP3 player.

It has an additional feature and that is a LED blue night light that you can turn on. It lights up the whole clear base and it makes it useful as a night light. It has two settings in addition to off, would work great for a childs room if they are still needing a night light.

Over all a great clock radio that wakes you up and does a whole lot more.
