(1 stars) - Very intermittent CD playing
I received this as a Christmas present 2 yrs ago. At first everything seemed OK, but within about 9 months the CD player quit working entirely. My husband spent hours on the phone with customer service, who tried to make him believe it was out of warranty, but we still had the original paperwork claiming otherwise. He had to fax the documents to them multiple times, then it required several weeks to "process" that until we finally got the OK to send it back. Well, lo and behold, suddenly it started working again! It worked consistently for about 2 more months (using it perhaps once a week), just enough time for it to really exceed the warranty period, when, you guessed it, it failed again. It's now been another year, and I've managed to get a CD to play maybe 6 times in that period, with at least 100 attempts. The radio works fine and the mp3 player input is OK too but the CD player makes a noise like it's loading and then just turns off, no matter which tray the CD is in. We've cleaned it numerous times, my husband even took it apart and blew compressed air through it. Only sporadic playing. don't waste your money or time!

(5 stars) - Excellent! Replacing GE model and very pleased
Had a GE model in the kitchen for years - it was much thinner and had a very convenient light but the quality was lacking. First the cd player stopped working, the buttons wore 'thin' and by the end only the radio and light remained.

This has several nice features including a 3 cd changer and abilit to plug in an MP3 which is a wonderful addition to expan the music collection. Several presets plus a much more usable remote control round out this offering to make it far superior to the older GE model. The only two deficiencies are the reception does not seem as good as the older GE (this is located in exactly the same place) and rather miss the light. Outside of those two minor issues, this is a far superior unit.

Makes light work of cooking - put on your favorite music, tune in to your favorite news or simply listen to a class while cooking or cleaning. Great price, nice features.

I am very pleased with this purchase and have already suggested it to friends who are in the market. I bought it here after hearing it (and getting the run-around) at several Best Buys. The sound is great, the remote, which I first laughed at as my kitchen is pretty small, has velcro and a magnet. It hangs off my microwave very conveniently. It came with a template of where to drill, which was very handy. It holds several presets (I am up to 13 so far) and the reception is fantastic. It's only been a few weeks, but no complaints thus far.
