| Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Babys First Blocks |
|
Product Details Ten bright blocks are ready for baby to drop into the open bucket or through the shape-sorting lid. Baby will love filling the bucket with blocks, dumping them out, then starting over again. Great for eye-hand coordination and other early skills. Then baby can move on to sorting and stacking and learning about identifying and matching shapes. Includes plastic shape-sorting box with take-anywhere handle and ten colorful blocks.
Product Reviews (2 stars) - Hmmm The lid does not stay on very well. I sit with my daughter to teach her to put the correct shape through the correct hole and she gets frustrated and takes the lid off (because she knows she can) and puts it in that way. I wish the lid would stay on better and it would be a much better toy.
(3 stars) - It is what it is I've noticed a lot of other reviews of the this product complaining that the lid doesn't snap on. That is true, but I haven't found it to be a problem. My son loves to play with the pieces, the lid, the container. While he isn't at the stage yet where he is "sorting" the shapes, he still enjoys the toy. And I think the fact that he understands how to take the lid off to get the shapes out shows he is in the know.
I will say I would never pay retail price for this or many other toys. I got this one in like new condition at a mom 2 mom sale for $1.00.
As for the toxicity issue, well, we try to do our best to be mindful of these things, but unfortunately, it is almost impossible to know what is really in a product. If you are really concerned, don't buy any plastic toys. On that note, when we do pay retail price for new toys, it is always for natural or wood toys, not plastic! Fisher Price doesn't need any more money then they already have ;)
(2 stars) - Lid won't stay on My daughter enjoyed this for the first five minutes, but once the container was full and we went to empty it, we couldn't get the lid to stay on. It will stay briefly if you lock the blue handle over it, but then kids can't see all of the shapes. There are much more fun shape sorters out there that actually work for more than a few minutes.
(1 stars) - Very Poor Design Poor design as the top doesn't stay on. Full for dumping but doesn't teach them shapes if the top doesn't stay on to fit the blocks.
(1 stars) - the lid doen't snap on The idea is good, but my son always dumps the block everywhere in the room since the lid dosen't snap on the box.. not recommend to everyone
