 (4 stars) - For the price, can't be beaten
So I was in the market for a man bag but didn't feel like blowing a whole ton of money on one of mediocre quality. I ordered this bag since it was dirt cheap, functional looking and of the size I was looking for. I must say so far I'm quite satisfied, it is light and carries the man stuff I've been hand-carrying around without being obnoxious. I ordered the olive colored one. I think for the price, you aren't going to do a whole lot better.
I would really prefer if it had a handle on top for hand carrying as well, as it does seem somewhat purse-like slung over the shoulder. That's just me though. Also, the buttons that close the flap aren't particularly friendly.. a magnetic closing mechanism would be ideal. This might change after using it for a while and "breaking in" the buttons.
If you are just looking for a cheap satchel for carrying a few loose items and essentials, this is a great product.
 (3 stars) - Looks alright but poorly made
I bought this bag for my boyfriend to use when we travel.
It's a little larger than I anticipated it to be, and the push buttons on the front are really hard to button. I mean you really have to press to get them to close.
And it has these wings on the top that fold into the bag. I dont know what these are for, but I ended up tearing them out since they only add the bulkiness.
There is also a cardboard sewn inside the bag to keep the bag in shape, but it's too thick and awkward. I think I will remove it and put a thin plastic sheet instead.
But the bag was cheap, so overall it's ok. I can sew, so I'll be doing some fixing. It looks decent and my boyfriend likes that it looks like a "man bag" :)

This bag is great for carrying a few books and such with you. It is simple and not too big. It doesn't look like a purse and it isn't too big like the bags I have seen at Banana Republic and J.Crew. It is a nice bag. The only change I would make would be to have a wider strap. Over all, its a good little bag.
 (5 stars) - Fabulous bag!!!
This bag has served me well for over a year! You can fit SO MUCH in it! I did alter it a little. I've re-sewn the straps on either side of the bag instead of on the back and i removed the board from the back to suit my needs. This has been to several countries including hiking in israel with me and it has yet to fail me in some way! It is losing it's dark olive color, but after more than a year who can complain about that?! The hardware is in really good condition, still. Very stable, reliable bag. The stitching is a little uneven in some places but I still recommend it without any limitations!

This simple map bag is large enough for me to carry a water bottle, snacks, and other largish things. It's perfect for my excursions into Disneyland, where I want something smaller than a backpack but I don't want to carry anything that looks like a purse! (I'm NOT a sissy.) This army surplus bag is just the thing. Not fancy, but it's rugged as well as cheap. Good deal!
