Product Reviews (5 stars) - Works Great!!! I bought this airbed for camping use. It worked very well! I've used other airbeds and they went flat after one night. This one, however, did not have to be re-inflated after the first night. Inflating and deflating the bed was very quick. The punp isn't very loud either. I am very satisfied with my purchase!
(5 stars) - The best I bought this, plus a small tent, for my son's 9th birthday. It stood up to four young boys bouncing on it during his birthday camp out. He has slept on it (in his tent) MANY nights since. He claims he sleeps better there than in his own bed. I have also slept on it- it is indeed better than any other air mattress i've ever used. It is easy to blow up and take down. Very soft. I plan to buy a full size soon.
(4 stars) - Awesome for partys! We got this because we are tired to sleeping on the floor at our friends' parties. I was a little disappointed because I didn't have the means to blow it up without D batteries. I guess it makes sense you can't just plug in the pump when your outdoors but I wish that somewhere prominent on the box it would have said BATTERIES REQUIRED or maybe have it come with batteries. I was able to blow it up the old fashioned way and it was very comfy!
(5 stars) - Nice for a temporary bed... ...although it does lose some air after a day or two. That would be my only negative...otherwise it was comfortable and easy to inflate...price was great!
(4 stars) - Great pump and very sturdy. Comfort comparable to aerobed. We have two of the twin size Intex air beds and we've used them several times. They are easy to use and have held up well. The pump is strong (but loud) and fills the mattress quickly.
It takes a minute to figure out the pump and release valve if you dont take the time to look at the directions. Make sure you try it out before you get where you're going just so you know how to set it up right. If the release valve isn't closed all the way it may pop open and deflate almost instantly.
The mattress if firm when fully inflated. I cant seem to get it to the right comfort level but that's probably because I'm not an avid camper and prefer regular mattresses or memory foam.
I'd say it's comparable to an aerobed as far as comfort goes. Set up is slightly more difficult because the pump needs to be attached. But given the lower price and the fact that you don't need a power outlet, I'd recommend the Intex if you're just looking for something for occassional use.
Overall it's a great value given the price.
*Hint* Consider two twin size mattresses instead of one larger size. We rarely take our aerobed (full size) anywhere anymore because we always had a hard time fitting it in small areas. Instead we take the two Intex twins. Plus twins usually fit nicely between beds in a hotel which is great for kids. You're also less likely to be disturbed if you're on a different mattress than your partner.
