(2 stars) - The microphone does not amplify the voice enough, even when the volume is all the way up.
The music is ok, but I wanted it to amplify one child's voice so that he/she could be heard above other children in the choir, and the volume is not high enough at its highest for that to happen.

Based on the other reviews I decided to try this one out in the store before I bought and I'm glad I did. I could not even hear myself through the mic when I tested it. There is no sound amplification. I would call this more of a dictaphone or recording device than a microphone.

I gave the Sing-Along Mike to my granddaughter for her third birthday. She was thrilled with it and abandoned all her other gifts to play with it! Before I wrapped it I recorded a short message to wish her Happy Birthday and she was very surprised to hear my voice when she pressed the button. She quickly learned how to play the music and sing along to the familiar songs. She also picked up on how to record and was singing and conducting interviews right away.

The package was shipped and I received it in a prompt manner. It is well made for the price, battery is easy to insert, no small pieces to deal with, easy to store and play with when the mood strikes.This gift was a hit!

I could have found something better at the dollar store I am sure. I am annoyed because first it does not work at all. We tried 3 sets of brand new batteries all to no avail. It was a gift or I would have returned it immediately.

Do not waste your money- try something else.

my son loves this toy! he loves recording himself then going back and listening to it a million times. and LOVES singing all the songs. if you can't stand to hear the same songs a million times a day this toy isn't for your kids! this toy takes patience lol
