Intended for people at great distances from the transmitters, the DB8 is our most powerful multi-directional HD antenna. In fact, its 15.8 dB gain make it one of the most powerful multi-directional antennas available. The bow tie design of the DB8 uses triangular elements instead of rods to greatly increase the bandwidth allowing it to cover the entire UHF band. Additionally, the mesh reflector of the bowtie is more efficient than a rod reflector, is lower in weight, and provides less wind resistance for greater performance and durability. This DB8 is the ideal antenna for use in locations that can pull long range signals from various directions and offers an attractive alternative to using a directional antenna mounted on a rotator.

 (4 stars) - Works great and is multi-directional.
I read a lot of the reviews in Amazon so was prepared for the worst when it came to assembly. And yes, the assembly instructions did leave something to be desired but after a while of staring, I did figure it out. I also noticed that one of the combiner bars across the back of the plastic box which houses the cable connection and circuitry was not rivited. 3 out of 4 connections were so I was wary of poor factory assembly. I called antennaedirect and as soon as I mentioned " combiner bar " the tech knew what I was concerned about and suggested I could squirt some silicon in the empty rivit location. Evidently that is the design. That really should be addressed at the factory as an outdoor antennae would allow water to go places you would not want it. If I was putting this antennae outside, I would slather the cable connection box entirely with silicon. No leaks then.
Ok, now for the good stuff. My house sits at around 360-370 ft above sea level. I'm appoximately 40-42 miles from Philly and Baltimore and 54 miles from Camden, NJ. I point my antennae 67 degrees to Philly and also get Camden at the same compass direction. Baltimore is at 250 degrees and also comes in clearly. Don't hold your compass close to the antennae when positioning as your steel mount will throw off your compass. I pick up all the major networks out of Philly and Baltimore. I get Fox, several all weather channels, PBS both from Phil and Camden,and some other channels.
I put my antennae in the attic of my 2 story home and ran 80 ft of quad shield cable ( $19.00 HomeDepot )with no pre-amp. I swear I'm looking at 1080P football and nature shows. Comcast or Armstrong cable was NEVER this good. I'm pulling in football in widescreen with surround sound. Thanksgiving will be way fun this year.
I chose the attic location to get away from uv degradation of plastics and oxidation of aluminum. An antennae in the attic will last forever.

after reading all the other reviews we decided to give this a try. We had lost all reception back in June when the switch to digetal was made. We live in an area that nobody will service since it is off road and quiet. Nothing worked so we felt we needed to go this route. We were real excited. Well, it wasn't worth it. The assembly was a bit confusing since it isn't written down but just in pictures and some of them we had to stare at to realize what went where. After it was all together we put it up and nothing, so we moved it--nothing, we did end up getting a rouge station here and there but usually lost it when we moved the antenna again and again. We pointed it east, south, north (we didn't try west since there is only water that way) and all combinations----nope, nada. So unless you are in a city or someplace where you are REAL confident of getting reception, don't bother with this one

This antenna made it possible to receive television signals in our area. The product is great and the seller was prompt! Since it is multi directional we were able to fix it to the house and to get the direction around the trees to gain television signals.

Antennas Direct DB8 Multidirectional HDTV Antenna. The antenna is easier to install and to maintain the old large horizontal antenna it replaced. signal recepion is only better in the high frequency range. It is NOT multi-directional.
(3 stars) - kinda pricy for what you get
The Antennas Direct DB8 is a decent antenna. It was a bit cumbersome while trying
to assemble. I want to caution anyone while connecting the coaxial to the antenna: the
flimsy circuit board inside with split and break with any twist. So be sure to only
hand-tighten the coaxial cable and be careful the cable doesn't wrap around and cause
tension on the connector either! The signal strength for my area is poor. With the DB8
I can go from 1-2 signal strength bars to a solid 5 (out of 5)! Not bad for what looks
like a fish-frying rack! So I can still recommend it, as customer service @(877) 825-5572
was fast & friendly when I had a connector snap. They did not trouble me for a copy of my
purchase (or even ask how long I had had it)!
