Product Reviews (5 stars) - book lover I cannot live without this electrical tooth brush. I love it and recommended to everybody. The price is good. I bought more expensive but last the same around 2 years. we use it all family (3).
(4 stars) - Sonicare Toothbrush My son doesn't like it because of the vibration, but the rest of the family thinks it works very well.
(3 stars) - Sonicare THe last Sonicare I had still works. It had 30 second timers on it so that I could brush each quarter of my mouth for 30 seconds. However they [unfortunately] discontinued making the replacement brushes available so I had to buy a new one that does not have all of the features of the old one. I lke Sonicare products but am unhappy with my experience.
(2 stars) - Sonicare Essence is a product cursed with design flaws. I purchased the Sonicare Essence about a month ago to replace my trusty Oral B 3-D which was about 7 years old and getting a bit weary motor-wise. I've had this Phillips product for about a month now and I must say it seems to have no advantages over the Oral B product, and several disadvantages which I find quite annoying.
Minuses:
First of all, with my old Oral B, visible bits of food matter could be seen in the sink during and after brushing, but with the Sonicare, nada, zip, zero. Therefore, the unit has less cleaning power. (no, it's not pulverizing them to invisibility, trust me.) The Phillips may have a higher rate of oscillation then the Oral B, but it lacks the rotary and reciprocal mechanical cleaning action of the Oral B unit. Secondly, who ever designed the grip is a doofus, a person with a very poor sense of functional design. The thing is cylindrical, smooth, and when wet, often rotates out of position so the hard plastic stem of the brush unit chatters against my teeth, instead of the brush. The Oral B handle design is superior in every way. Thirdly, the 90 second power shutoff feature makes no sense. 90 seconds is not enough time to do anything more than than a light once over, which is not a proper tooth cleaning. This requires that each and every time I brush, I must locate the power button, which is not as prominent as it should be, (complaint 3.5), and I often have to take the brush out of my mouth to locate the power button so I can resume brushing. BAD DESIGN!
Pluses: It's white, so you can accessorize it with anything, especially toilets.
If I had it to do again, I might consider buying a new and improved Oral B.
(4 stars) - Good inexpensive brush I purchased this toothbrush to replace a more expensive Sonicare brush that had quit working. It works well for the price. It is noisier and more rattle-y than my previous brush, and I kind of miss the 30 second timer beep from the more more expensive brush. But this brush was so much more affordable.
