 (3 stars) - Could use a little more work...
The Everlast Multi-Function chinning Bar looks like a pretty good idea, however it doesn't seem to hold on to the door frame correctly in any of the houses I've tried this in. Assembling was easy and the nuts, bolts, and washers held pretty well. The main problem has been that the bar seems to tilt at a 45 degree angle causing it to become unstable when lifting one self on it. Also this product is ill advised for those of us that are over a range of 180lb or more since it also causes the door frame to begin to buckle after heavy use. The bar as mentioned in other reviews has an abrasive sand paper pad stuck on there to grip the wall. If my bar would hang correctly on the door frames we've tried so far, it would have abraded the wall surfaces over the door. With the experience myself and my friends have had with since I bought it, It feels really unsafe to use and has on occasion slipped a few times which has led me to give it a low score. The only reason I had not given it a 2 star rating is that it might be designed for more modern architecture that may have heavier door frames and with the correct measurements may actually hang as it was meant to. Also if it did become safer to use it might not be so bad for people under a 200lb+ range of weight. But as for my experience, I'll just keep it tucked away until I can find a door frame I can hang it on or a person who wants it.

At least provide nuts and bolts that are the right size. Can't believe Everlast is willing to taint their brand name by keeping this product on the market.

Okay, so I got the pull up bar and LOVE it!!! I have seen results almost right away and have been very satisfied with it thus far.
Two suggestions though...
1. Make sure if you purchase this item that it will fit in your door frame. I live in San Francisco and live in an old building in San Francisco and the pull bar does not fit in all my door frames. It does fit in one, but not all of them.
2. Have someone who has a power drill available to help assemble. Even without the power it would be nearly impossible to put this together alone.
(1 stars) - Wrong parts!
I recieved this pull up bar without the proper parts to fasten it effectively. The mainbolts that contain the locking screws were too long to securely fasten the bar together. I was very dissapointed and had to return the product.
(3 stars) - wobbly,bad screws
Screws holding this together were too long and so, with the friction of doing the pull ups, they loosen.I have yet to fall. I use it at least once a week for at least five minutes but, I'm 4'11" and 110lbs so maybe this is safer for myself than others.
