 (5 stars) - Great white noise for travel
We use a more expensive white noise generator at home, and I bought this one for travel. It outperforms the larger, more expensive one in quality. It offers only two varieties, but the permutations for frequency (high/low) give considerable variety in the tones offered. Volume control also is variably up to quite a high level (too loud for us to sleep!). It would be nice if it were capable of battery power, but even with AC power, it comes in a compact and convenient travel case. If it proves to be durable (I've had it only a month), this is a great buy.

The ability to be able to use a power cord OR batteries should be a REQUIREMENT for a travel sound machine!
Not every place has (dependable) electricity or you might not have the right power converter on hand: sometimes the battery option is a lifesaver (sleepsaver? whatever).
I love my little travel sound machine from the now-defunct Sharper Image, but the poor thing has some years and a lot of mileage and is on its last legs... I chose this Marsona TSC-330 as a replacement, based on all the great product reviews here. However, this sound machine doesn't take batteries :( So, sadly, I am going to have to return this.

(5 stars) - Tinnitus Relief
Tinnitus, I've got it in spades. A colleague loaned me her Marpac SleepMate 980A which worked fairly well, but it wasn't quite loud enough and the pitch couldn't be adjusted high enough. I wear a tinnitus inner-ear masker most of the time except when at work (where I play an mp3 of white noise on a continuous loop). Sleeping with the masker is a pain. In comes the Marsona TSC-330. It works. My wife loves the 'surf' setting. Even while on surf, there is no discernible pattern. Unlike cheaper white noise makers where the pattern is obnoxious. Sure it's a travel unit, but I'll be keeping this on by the bed and get another one for the road.

If all you are looking for is a machine to make white noise then you will like this one. The sound therapy machine I have at home actually makes different sounds including white noise. I bought this to travel with and all it does is change the pitch of the white noise to make different sounds. For the price I expected better.
