Quick and Easy Operation
The two-channel Quiet Sounds installs in just minutes without any tools, so you can enjoy the benefits of wireless video and audio monitoring right away. Compact and lightweight, the monitor can then be attached to the included belt clip or simply placed on any flat surface (a stand is included); you can also use the included mounting hardware and mount it to a wall.

Once installed, the 900 MHz camera transmits clear pictures and sounds to the video monitor with ranges up to 350 feet (clear line of sight) and 100 feet (obstructed). And it's a snap to add up to two more cameras (sold separately) if you wish to simultaneously monitor more rooms, an option that's especially convenient as your family grows.

Crystal Clear Reception
This handheld monitor utilizes the latest FM band technology to provide crystal clear reception. In addition, it has an easy to read, 1.8-inch, high resolution, full color LCD display and LED sound lights. Keep Track of Baby at Night
One of the most helpful and unique features of the Quiet Sounds monitor is its night vision capabilities, which allow parents to check up on their sleeping baby without disturbing his or her rest. Nine built-in infrared LEDs permit the camera to view clear black and white images within a distance of up to six feet in total darkness.

Another night-time option is to turn off the video button and choose the audio-only option. A super sensitive microphone built into the camera alerts sleeping parents that their baby is making noises, crying or moving around in his or her crib.

Longlasting and Reliable
This sleek plastic monitor comes with rechargeable batteries that lasts up to 10 hours. It also boasts a power-saver feature that times out after three minutes when running on the battery. (3 stars) - love the concept, but can see neighbor's babies!
I love the concept of a video monitor. We can check on our daughter so easily without running up the stairs into her room or without getting out of bed. For that reason, I am happy with this. However, we have serious interference with our neighbor's video monitor. They have two babies and use both channels and for some reason, we pick up their signal on both channels quite often. The static that results is very annoying. Our neighbors are not that close to us (they are diagonal across the street) so it was surprising to us that we would have interference with them - to the point that sometimes we can't see our own child. I don't know if they have more powerful cameras or if there is a version of this monitor where the interference is minimized, but I'd probably recommend that instead.

(5 stars) - AMAZING MONITOR!
I have owned/used this video monitor for over 14 months. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews that I read. We haven't run into "viewing" someone else's baby. There aren't many houses around us. Most people around us don't have children, so it hasn't been an issue.

What we love about this monitor:

1. Very well made. I can't tell you how many times that I have dropped this monitor! It takes a beating and works perfectly. The clips (to attach the monitor to you) are also very sturdy. The plastic piece that holds the monitor into the standing position is very sturdy as well. I read negative reviews about that on the later model with the 2.5in screen. This one (the 1.8in) doesn't have that problem.

2. Battery Life. This monitor has tons of battery life. Even after using it for 14 months, I can use this monitor almost all day without having to plug it in to charge. I also have had no problems with connecting the monitor to the cable to charge it.

3. Static free. This is such a quiet monitor! However, we do not have portable phones. We have a phone system in our home, so that may make a difference. We also don't have any near neighbors running things to interfere. We do have wireless internet and DSL. We have had no interference.

4. Great color picture and picture quality. At night, the picture is black and white, however, during the day this is a true color monitor. The picture is not fuzzy nor does it take time to focus in (I read terrible reviews about the video monitor on the 2.5 in version, this version doesn't have these problems).

5. Highly adjustable and clear audio. It is very easy to adjust the volume. The audio is very clear. We have never had any problems with adjusting the volume or with static.

6. Works just as well as the day we got it! This monitor lasts. It works just as well 1 1/2 years after we got it as it did on the first day we used it.

7. Camera can be mounted on the wall or set somewhere. This is a great feature.

8. For times when you don't want the audio on, it has the lights to let you know if there is noise in the room. This was wonderful for when I was on the phone. I could see if my child started to cry without having the noise interruption.

I highly recommend this monitor. However, it does seem like there are quite of bit of difference between the Summer 1.8in video monitor and the 2.5in video monitor. I can only recommend the 1.8in video monitor. From the negative reviews, it sounds like the 2.5in Summer video monitor isn't an improvement.

(5 stars) - Seems unnecessary, but totally worth it!!!
We've had this monitor for several months now, and I'm here now to buy one for my parents' house. It seems like something that isn't necessary, but it's really, truly great. It makes all the difference in that moment when you're trying to figure out just how UP your little one is. You can see if he's standing and jumping, or if he's still in sleepy position and thinking about to go back to sleep. It eliminates that instant of, 'Dangit, I should have waited to go in! He would have gone back down!'. And for that moment, it's totally worth it.

The one thing that I was worried about before I bought it is that it has all of those dots around the camera, and I thought that maybe they were all LEDs, and would provide a ton of light and keep our guy up. But they're not--there's just one green LED, and the rest must be sensors so that it can see in the dark (which, incidentally, it can. For real.). It's less intrusive than our audio monitor.

The picture is adequate, and it doesn't bother us at all that it's a little small. One word of warning: our son thinks it's THE absolute best toy in the world, and now we have to keep it hidden in our kitchen cabinet to keep his little mitts off of it.
