 (5 stars) - Excellent replacement for one or more OE chargers
Purchased this to replace a dead OE charger for my B&D "FireStorm" batteries.
I have three batteries for my Firestorm system: the one that came with the set originally, one purchased about a year later, and third purchased one more year later. I thought that my original battery had pretty much had it and the basic diagnostics on this unit confirmed my belief with a fast flash code. Off to the recycler's with that one. The 2nd battery had been having issues charging on the OE charger before it died. However, it charged perfectly on this new unit. Very happy about that.
Having the flexibility to recharge my 18v B&D batteries on this as well is a big plus. My OE charger for my 18v batteries still works fine, but now I can do with just one charger, rather than having to have two chargers out on the workbench.
Item can quickly, NIB. Works just peachy. If you need a replacement for your OE B&D charger, or just want to not have to keep multiple chargers for your B&D gear laying about, this is a great way to go, and a heck of a lot cheaper on Amazon than the B&M stores I've shopped this item at (including the B&D outlet store).

I had bought one of these chargers at the outlet store when my old charger stopped working for my 14.4 volt
battery for my screw driver. I now have 4 more batteries that are 18.8 volt and this will charge both and at
a much faster rate than the chargers that are supplied with the batteries. I now have 2 of these chargers and
keep 2 batteries on them at all times. I change them each day to keep them fresh and I always have 2 batteries
fully charged.

I bought this charger, because it was the model number of charger to use printed on my battery. Like a few others have noticed, the battery will not slide into the charger. The battery has 4 terminals, including one that is an L shape. The charger only accepts 3 terminals. Black and Decker Customer Support has only recommended I buy this model of charged, despite my complaint that it does not fit. I now have a bricked drill that I cannot find replacement batteries or a charger for.
I'm not sure why they have different products with the same model numbers, but the packaging claims it will work with ALL 18v slide style batteries. Buyer beware, it may or may not work for you.

This charger is worth the price. You need one that you can leave batteries on indefinitely. Who remembers to remove them. Also, this one tells you if there's a problem with your battery. Buy it and throw away the cheepo that came with your appliance.
